ORGANIC PIGS

Ang baboy na hindi mabaho” (Odorless Pigs), no wash technology (walang ligo)!

Pig pens are guaranteed odorless despite the fact that they do not bath,  absolutely no use of  ANTI-BIOTICS and NO CHEMICALS.

We do not feed the pigs with commercial feeds. Instead, we ferment their food with beneficial microbes.  By doing so, we save more than 50% on feed expenses.

A huge savings on water and labor cost is also attained using this type of growing pigs in a natural way.

We mix our own feed with combination of Rice bran(D1), Duck weed, Copra meal, greens, EM, molasses, water and ferment anaerobically  for two(2) weeks.

We also give them snacks in the form of vegetables and fruits, mostly farm excess and rejects. The meat of our commercial pigs tastes like wild pigs.

Moreover, the fat between the skin and the meat is very thin unlike commercial pigs.  We produce lean meat without the rancid smell that even heart-bypassed clients can consume them safely. The only drawback - you wont eat commercial pork again after you experience indulging with our naturally grown pork meat!

For the beddings of the pig pen, we dig up  one (1) meter deep, replaced the soil with  mixture of sawdust, carbonized rice hull, salt and sprayed it with EM, molasses and water.

This will reduce stress and allow natural rooting or scratching instincts that can’t be practiced on cemented floors.   Our pigs are healthy and happy because we provided them with the natural habitat that they want and what they have used to.

This type of farming natural pigs will provide total savings of  up to 60% compared to conventional piggery. We do not bathe the pigs and yet they are odorless..

Aside from the commercial breed of Duroc and landrace, we also have native pigs and pure breed wild pigs from Mindoro, Philippines.  While the native breeds are very popular for “lechon” because of  their genuinely delicious meat, we do not sell the wild pigs.

Their primary purpose is for the “back-end economy” – manure  for composting.  For better digestion and strong immune system, we mix their drinking water with EM-1. The EM-1 serves as their pro-biotics.

When we harvest our pigs, we also harvest the EM composted sawdust beddings(at least 1 foot deep), feed them to the ANC earthworms then the earthworms produce vermicast, which in turn applied to our crops - a very effective organic fertilizer for our veggies!

ORGANIC PEKING DUCKS

Similar to our pig diet, we also mix the feed for our naturally grown peking ducks. We just add a fraction of livestock lime. Kangkong leaves are also one of their favourite snacks. Sometimes we prepare EM Salad, a mixture of 10 kilo chopped veggies like kangkong, 2 kilo rice bran(D1), 5 ml EM-1 and 2 liters water.

We use poultry type of duck pens with the beddings similar to our organic pigs.  Absolutely, there is no foul odor and no flies around.  There is also no ‘bath tub’ contrary to the traditional practice of duck raising.  We harvest the peking ducks at 90 days yielding 2.5 kilo of meat.

We also spray their pens with mixture of  EM, molasses and water every week to eliminate pathogens and foul odor. This will also prevent flies from proliferating.

ORGANIC FREE RANGE CHICKEN

While our chickens are ranged freely in one area of the farm, we also provided a shelter for them and the beddings is the same as what we use in our pig and duck pens.

Aside from our own poultry feed mix, we feed the chicken with grasses and vegetable trimmings.  There is absolutely no chemicals and anti-biotics.

Our sasso chickens are famous for Filipinos’ all-time-favourite menus like “tinola” and “sinampalukan”. We serve this to our farm tourists and visitors.

AQUACULTURE (ORGANIC TILAPIA)

We have four (4) ponds for growing our organic tilapia exclusively for leisure purposes. The water source is natural spring  from the mountain. We grow algae(lablab) on the pond for a month before we put in the fingerlings.

We use Bokashi for growing  algae.  The profusely grown algae(lablab) will become the feed meal of the fingerlings for up to six(6) weeks.  On the 7th week, we supplement  the algae diet with duckweed, a protein-rich aquatic plant.  We grow the duckweeds in a separate pond(without fish)    The best thing is that duckweed is free.

We hit two birds in one stone – premium delicious tilapia and  cheaper cost of production.

There is no difference in the taste between our organically grown tilapia and those tilapia wildly grown on rivers. There is no rancid smell (hindi malansa).

Guests usually bring-in their fishing rods to catch the tilapia using our vermi as bait.

This is great for family bonding- usually father-and-son , mother-and-daughter  team up. Fishing is a great and unique experience especially for kids.

It develops patience and very rewarding.

VERMICULTURE

At the farm, we do not burn farm waste, instead, we recycle and convert them into organic fertilizers, which will feed the soil and in turn…feed the plant.

One way of effectively recycling farm waste for composting ( aside from aerobic and anaerobic) is through the use of vermi(worms).

These worms are fantastic “eating machines”. They can consume  food(farm waste-grass, animal manure, dry leaves, banana leaves/trunks) as much as their body weight in a day.

The worm castings(vermicast) are very effective organic  fertilizers  complete with macro and micro nutrients that the plant needs.

We use the castings in our specialized potting mediums(70% carbonized rice hull, 30% vermicast) that boosters the growth of seedlings.

For newly transplanted seedlings, castings are side dressed and sprayed with compost tea from vermicast.

At the farm, we sell vermicast(100% worm castings) and vermicompost(90% worms castings, 10% compost) by the bags. The voracious worms, African Night Crawler(ANC) are also being sold at P800 per kilo.

HERBS ‘N SPICES

We have a specialized area for our herbs and spices. Guest can freshly pick their favourite herbs for their preferred tea flavour.  The most popular are tarragon and  spearmint tea because of their cool and relaxing mentholated flavour.

Bouquet Garni(herb cuttings in a bunch)are available whether as  gifts or for personal consumption.

Herbs sold in cuttings and pots are:

  •  Sweet basil, Purple basil, Thai basil, Lemon basil, Red basil, Dwarf basil

  • Pepper mint, Chocolate mint, swiss mint, apple mint, pineapple mint,  Japanese mint

  • Tarragon, Kaffir Lime, Fennel,  Thyme, Sage, Gynura, Stevia, Parsley, Viola

INTEGRATED NATURAL FARMING TRAINING & CONSULTANCY SERVICES

The trainings and  experiences that we have earned through the years combined with our passion have transformed us from corporate executives into full pledged multi-awarded natural farmers.

We also had some mistakes during our early trials of learning the art of integrated natural farming.

It is in this area that we can provide our services so that  “would be” natural farmers can safely jumpstart and minimizes the risk of committing errors.

It is guaranteed that after attending the  intensive seminar, attendees will be able to learn and implement on his own, the latest, easiest to adapt, simplest to practice, and  most effective technology in natural farming.

The most efficient way of learning, which are combination of lectures and 'hands-on' in addition to the complete training facilities and showcase of a commercial and sustainable organic farm, will provide every student the confidence and skills in learning the technology.
